We have water!

The last month has been very busy with the #SpiritofBelron event and our Bike Sweepstakes. We thought we’d send a little update on what has been going on at our centres in South Africa…

Borehole installation at Orange Farm

As part of our ongoing greening goals, we have recently installed a borehole at our Orange Farm centre in Gauteng. This will mean that Orange Farm will soon be off the water grid. We are especially excited to have this water supply for our garden to keep it flourishing year-round!

Focus on Gender-Based Violence

Second edition Gender-Based Violence online discussion

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is deep-rooted in gender inequalities and continues to be one of the most notable human rights violations in South Africa. The latest GBV statistics reveal a shocking reality that a large number of South Africans face on a daily basis.

Our work with young people has demonstrated the need to understand how they perceive and encounter GBV, and explore what are some of the gaps in the national response strategy from a youth perspective. Join us for our second GBV online discussion: A conversation with young people about gender-based violence.

Members of the Afrika Tikkun’s Young Urban Men and Women’s programmes will engage with a diverse panel of activists, including TV and Radio personality Ms. Penny Lebyane, who will facilitate the event.
